Hello world!

Remember me? Ah, yes. As you can see, i have been neglecting this blog for....Well.. Months. I can explain! I started another blog, by the same name, using www.tumblr.com.

An amazing thing happened. I got hundreds of followers.

Whereas, on this blog, my number of followers is still in the single digits (Sigh). www.almostnyc.tumblr.com isn't a gossip/ fashion/ personal blog, like this one was. It's more of a "Whatever i feel like" Blog. More recently, its been a grunge/retro/kawaii/ whatever i like blog.

Due to the decent amount of followers i got with this "Random" blog, i decided to make one that was more personal. www.hakuna-matumblin.tumblr.com is my personal blog now. I write at least one post every week, and in between text posts, I post and re-blog photography and fashion pictures. It's beautiful and simple.

Summer slipping away!

Summer is one of the best times of the year. Well, all the seasons have good things about them but summer may be the most FUN! Next to the Christmas season i find people are happiest during the summer months. Especially those of us that are still in school! It seems now that summer is slowly slipping away. I'm going to miss everything about it. The hot days, the warm nights, the beach, the tan lines, flip flops, every-single-thing!

Although summer is fading fast, I'm glad that i had such a good summer. I've been up to Maine multiple times, been to the beach, i saw fireworks and went night swimming at the lake. While i was swimming in the darkness i was floating on my back, staring up at the stars. They were so bright, they may be the best stars ive ever seen! As i was floating, staring up into the heavens i saw an amazing thing. A shooting star! It was only the 2nd shooting star ive seen in my life! I immediately made a wish on it, and i have the feeling it will come true. :) The next night i went out in the lake again.. And you'll never believe it. I saw another shooting star. If that aint a sign i dont know WHAT is.

Summer isn't over yet, though. Who knows what else could happen.

Maine Voyage Part 2

Family is VERY important to me. Without my family, i would be completely lost. I have the best 3 Brothers, 2 Sisters-in-law and 1 sister in the world. I also have the best 2 Cats and 1 Dog. I have the best family anyone could ask for. Hey, we're not perfect but we ARE family and thats whats important. In this post i shall tell you about the wonderful meal we had at my Brother and Sister in laws house. I shall also tell you about the time we had at our cousins house.

When we left our Grandparents house we knew we had a while to drive. About an hour to Patrick and Amanda's house. But we had our GPS with us and we knew we could depend on it to get where we have to go safely! I wish that was true. That demented piece of technology took us about an hour out of the way. I swear, we were driving the complete wrong direction for at least 30 min. What should have been a one hour trip transformed into a 2 hour fiasco.

Define: Fiasco.

Fee- as-koh. -noun, plural.

1. A complete ignominious failure.

Once we finally arived at out destination we had a great time! The food was awesome, we all ate ourselves silly. Not that i wasnt looking foreward to seeing my cousins, but i have to admit i was kind of sad to leave! I dont see my Brother and Sister in law that often. But when we do, we always have the BEST time! :)

At our cousins house, we immediately left to go get ben and jerrys. Because no visit is complete without Ben and Jerrys icecream. One thing we did was play jenga. Not normal jenga. Super Jenga. Jenga with blocks the size of shoe boxes. So it wasnt "Yay! Jenga!" It was "Yeah. Jenga, b**ch." Proud moment for me, right there. There was also cake involved! Lots of sugar= fun night. The first 40 min. of Mega shark V.S giant octopus made it all better. My cousin pointed out bedtime might be a good idea when we noticed the sun was rising....

And i was supposed to get up for church in a few hours. I immediately passed out untill 8am when my alarm woke me up. I sat up in bed and...Ohh...I think im gonna be sick...BLE--

So it begins! Maine voyage part 1.

What begins? Why, summer of course. Summer never actually begins on the date the calender tells you. It begins on a different day for every person. This year, summer began on memorial day weekend. Summer often begins on memorial day weekend for many families, but not always. Sometimes it begins on.. Say.. June 15th. Why? Oh, no special reason. Well its not special for YOU anyway. On June 15th 2010 the Anderson family's summer began because they had their first family beach outing! But summer didn't begin for the Edwards family until June 20th, when they set off on their voyage across country in their RV.

My family's summer started the day we drove up to Maine to visit family and friends! This was the plan:

Thursday- Friday. Stay at Grandparents lake house.

Saturday- Cookout with Brother and Sister in law.

Saturday Night- Stay night at cousins house.

Sunday- Meet up with friends at church.
Sunday Night- Stay at Friends house.

Monday- Drive home.

Here's how it all went down!

Wednesday night was spent packing everything i might possibly need for a trip to Maine for a few days. Planning every outfit out, making checklists, ect. The next morning we made the trip up to vacationland! The sight of that little brown house at the end of that bumpy dirt road has been one of the most exciting things for as long as i can remember. That lake that all of us cousins had been swimming in all our lives never changed. It's always been the familiar warm water, surrounded by pine trees and the sounds of splashing children. I'll never forget the feeling of floating on my back, staring up at that big blue sky with the warm sun reflecting off the water. The two days we spent at Grand moms and Grand Dads were perfect, warm ones. We left the little paradise with smiles on our faces, slight sunburns and anticipation of what was to come on our "Summer Kickoff" weekend.

THE HUNGER GAMES.

Hello, Internet. Yes, i lied again. I said that i would post more but... Things are busy and... WELL ANYWAY, NOW I HAVE SOMETHING TO WRITE ABOUT!

Lets talk about "The Hunger Games". I kept hearing about some book called "The Hunger Games", all my friends told me i had to read it. Finally my cousin informed me that i HAD to read this series, he had all 3 books and he let me borrow them. I read the first book and it was like CRACK. SO ADDICTING! I could NOT put this book down and when i finally finished it i was like "Holy cow, wheres the second book, i have to read it!"

I was so happy my friends and family told me about the series, and i was VERY pleased to hear that they were going to make the series of the books into a series of movies! My only fear is that the movies wont do the books justice. Liam Hemsworth is going to play Gale, Josh Hutcherson is going to play Peeta Mellark and Jennifer Lawrence is going to play Katniss Everdeen. As for the rating, a little birdy told me that the rating would be PG-13 but it BETTER be close to an R because the books are very descriptive about the violence. And if the movie wasn't very violent well.. It just wouldn't have the same feeling as the books. The books were very emotional and moving, i just hope the movie is able to capture that aspect.

Best and worst dressed! And.. A very interesting headline.

'Ello, 'ello, 'ello! Did you get to see the Oscars? Most of us did, but then again some of us missed it. I happen to be one of the few that missed it! .. But hey, i try! Enjoy this article from www.stylelist.com :)

Just in case you missed it, here's a recap of the best-and worst-dressed people at the Oscars 2011.We were most partial to Cate Blanchett's Givenchy Couture dress, though we know some found it odd. Also on our hot list were Mila Kunis in lavender Elie Saab (lacy ruffles, so spring!) and Gwyneth Paltrow looking every inch a New York blueblood in a shimmering Calvin Klein Collection column dress (until she sang a country song, that is).As this was the Oscars, no one was really the worst dressed. But if pressed, we'd have to say Amy Adams' blue sequin L'Wren Scott dress would have been better served without the big green pendant. Fellow Best Actress nominee Nicole Kidman chose a striking Christian Dior gown, but the hip shield was a little unusual. And host Anne Hathaway's original red-carpet dress, with the big bustle, was the least interesting of all her many Oscars 2011 looks.

And there you have it!

So, i was just minding my own business. Cruising around the Internet, you know, the usual stuff.. And then i saw this headline "MTV star arrested, smears poop on Jail Cell" You know why he was arrested in the first place? I was peeing in public. And he peed in his first jail cell, so they moved him. And then he took a #2 and decided to share it all over the walls of his second jail cell! Nice. Does anybody really give a crap about this story anyway????

Remember the last time i made a new post? I believe i said something about actually getting back to writing in this blog of mine. But i lied. I am a failure, and i take full responsibility for my actions. I've been bad. BUT I MEAN IT THIS TIME!!! I REALLY DO!!! You can not know how dearly i have missed trashing lady gaga publicly on the Internet. Its one of my favorite things to do, you know.

So can we talk about Lady Gaga at the grammys? The woman decided it would be a good idea to arrive at the grammys in a GIANT EGG. That's cool. Yeah, i go everywhere in my giant egg. Everywhere. I also want to make a perfume that smells like... Lets not go there right now. That's another post.

Listen to this. I'm laying in my bed, staring at the ceiling. I actually have woken up before my alarm, and i feel very accomplished. I start thinking about what i have to do today, where i might have to go.. And then... "TONIGHT WERE GOING HARDHARDHARDHARDHARDHARD JUST LIKE THE WORLD IS OURSOURSOURSOURSOURSOURS YOU KNOW WE'RE SUPERSTARS WE ARE WHO WE ARE" Down the hall i can be heard swearing at the snooze button "SHUT UP KESHA, NOBODY LIKES YOU!!!" I am so p.oed that i fall back asleep and sleep in till 11:30am. There go's my entire day. Thanks Ke$ha.
